The commission at Kin, located in Clerkenwell, London, involved the complete remodelling, redesign, and refurbishment of an existing Chinese restaurant, transforming it into a vibrant Thai eatery. Working in close collaboration with Kai Design, the project provided an exciting opportunity to reimagine the dining experience while respecting the history of the building.

Thoughtful Design Balancing Old and New
The basement, ground, and first floors were extensively remodelled to create a fresh and inviting atmosphere. References to the building’s past were incorporated in playful ways, with exposed walls and vintage flooring enhancing the aesthetic. A carefully curated material and colour palette was selected to evoke warmth and authenticity. Bespoke-designed furniture, sourced vintage pieces, and feature lighting further enriched the space, adding layers of personality and charm. A standout feature is the ‘concrete’ bar and serving area, which anchors the design.
